COMPETITIONS: The JAUS WG is working with the AUVSI student competition
organizers to include a JAUS Challenge in the student competitions.
These challenges are used to introduce JAUS to the student teams. Each
participating team is required to implement a defined number of JAUS
messages and to write a short whitepaper describing how they learned
about JAUS, how they integrated JAUS into their system, and what
challenges they faced in including JAUS in their system. The first
year's challenge is a simple test to get the students familiar with a
limited number of JAUS messages. Successive years will have a more
complex task. Cash rewards are provided to the teams that successfully
complete the JAUS challenge. The Joint Ground Robotics Enterprise is
supporting the JAUS challenge within the AUVSI competitions.
