Vision:
JAUS will achieve wide acceptance and use as a flexible, robust, easy-to-use domain level architecture for consumer, military and industrial Unmanned Systems. It will promote competition, enable insertion of technology advancements, and provide industry and government a sound business case for its use. It will remain viable and relevant as advancements in system engineering and architecture design occur. JAUS will be adopted by a commercial standards body and become the standard domain architecture for military unmanned systems.

Mission:
To develop JAUS such that it attains clear objectives and maintains a consistent philosophy
To promote JAUS as the domain architecture for Unmanned Systems
To educate the Unmanned Systems community on JAUS
To support acquiring, developing, testing, and manufacturing organizations' incorporation of JAUS into their products and services
To pursue the adoption of JAUS as a commercial and military standard
